wild heart.
Hi, I'm Olivia Schubert — a 17-year-old photographer, equestrian, and artist based in Melbourne, Australia. I find stories everywhere: in the still patience of a bird before flight, in the blur of sport, in the quiet language between horse and rider.
This portfolio gathers the things I love most — images made, adventures taken, and artwork created. I'm always learning, always looking, always out in the world with a camera or a sketchbook.
There's something magical about the split second a bird takes flight or turns its head in perfect light. I've spent early mornings in wetlands and parks around Melbourne — and further afield — chasing those moments with my camera.
Capturing the energy, effort, and emotion of sport is a completely different challenge — everything happens fast, the light is unpredictable, and you only get one chance to freeze the decisive moment.
Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. The relationship between rider and horse is built on trust, patience, and constant communication — both in the saddle and in the stable.
New places sharpen how I see. Travelling with a camera means I'm always paying attention to light, texture, people, and the small details that make somewhere feel like itself.
Away from the camera, I draw and paint. Art-making is a slower, more deliberate kind of seeing — a way to sit with something long enough to really understand its shape, colour, and character.
The day-to-day shots, experiments, and moments that don't make it into the portfolio.
